RANDALL GRAY COOK is chronicling the life of of one Baby Boomer, a memoir, in a series of three books. From the first moment to nearly the last, it is a mini-history of a boy from South Texas, his family, friends, loves, travels, puberty, ups, downs and all-arounds. War, marriage, deaths, good times, bad times, and everything in between. Dogs and horses and cars and maybe a few other things, too.
The first, When We Were Younger and Cuter: My Life as a Baby Boomer, Part One, covers no small distance between 1945 and 1968. The second, Blue Water, Brown Water: Stories of Life in the Navy and in Vietnam, covers the period 1968 through 1971. The third is now in progress, and will include the years 1971 through the present. The history is not intended to be all about the author but all about us, with all of the ecstasies and agonies of the next-to-The Greatest Generation.
