When We Were Younger and Cuter

My Life as a Baby Boomer

Part One

This is the beginning of a three-part memoir following the life of one Baby Boomer, from a time
of innocence and bikes and pencils and The Lone Ranger all the way to a somewhat more
complicated world in the next century. Part one deals with birth in 1945 through graduation from
college in 1968, a very personal view of how it was to live in those days. It is meant to serve as
a mini-history, in part to make you smile or even laugh out loud, in part to inform you about how
we kids grew up in South Texas. If you are one of the 77,000,000 Baby Boomers, you may
compare our world with yours in other parts of the country. If you are not, learn more about your
parents or grandparents; they came up in a galaxy that is far, far away now.
